Tofu Noodles Review - Low Carb!

Soy The soybean has been a part of the human diet for almost 5,000 years. Unlike most plant foods, the soybean is high in protein and is considered equivalent to animal foods in terms of the quality of the protein it contains.

Tofu Noodles - Low Calorie and Healthy Pasta

We tried House Brand Tofu Shirataki Noodles in both the spaghetti and fettucine shapes, with our favorite pasta sauces including tomato pasta sauce, pesto, and a homemade Thai Peanut Sauce.

The tofu noodles requires only draining and a few minutes parboiled in a pan of boiling water to remove the slight "smell" that shirataki noodles have. If you wish to use them cold, say in the summer in a cold noodle salad, just parboil then rinse in cool water or immerse in a water bath with ice chips first.

Unlike regular shirataki noodles that can feel "crunchy," the texture is smooth (very slippery, in fact) with no distinct flavor and doesn't have the starchy "bite" that regular pasta has, but it's still enjoyable and takes on highly flavored sauces well. At about $2 per package, it's not as cheap as dry pasta, but at only 20 calories per serving and Net 1 G of carbs (2 g of fiber too!), it's a wonderful way to get some pasta back in your diet!
